Profile

A highly motivated, forward thinking person with wide experience across a range of diverse environments.

I have worked also worked on varied projects, often from initial strategy through to final implementation.

In previous positions, I have been part of a team that covered the updating if the IT systems for the NHS and have been part of a training team of a major middle management company that had contracts with the utility companies and also the MOD.

I have also worked in a prison and a Hindu Temple.

I have gained a comprehensive knowledge of modern business systems and have sound communication skills and imagination, and am now seeking to utilise skills, knowledge and personal strengths within a dynamic company.

Virgin Care was acquired by the private equity group Twenty20 Capital in December 2021 and has been rebranded as HCRG Care Group. My duties remainded the same as before.

Permanent - Senior Clinical Systems Specialist
Virgin Care
had taken over the running of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals and Lancashire Care Child Health 0-19yrs services, which covers most of Lancashire and has 500 users.

My duties are varied, from created and updating users profiles, front end training, either groups or 121, RA Agent ID Checker, UAT Testing, Sys Config, which included creating new locations, clinic, Clinical Templates etc. Also looked after the sharing agreements with the local NHS Trusts.

Dealing on a day to day basis directly with the management and staff of the Lancashire 0-19 Service.

Also required to give support to any Virgin Care locations in the North, North West and North East of England.

Virgin Care had taken over the contract at Gravesend Community Hospital and Isle of Sheppey Hospital. My duties included creating lesson plans and delivering EMIS Web and EMIS Mobile training various Clinical and Administration staff leading up to the Go Live

IT Trainer and Floorwalker for the Trust’s new Afga Xero PACS viewer. The new Xero PACS viewer was many aimed at Doctors & Consultants of the trust, and my duties included 1 to 1 training, floorwalking A&E, MAU, Outpatient clinics. This also included working shifts.

Also, helpdesk triaging and resolving of logged calls, which also included working with the Clinic booking teams to resolve outpatient appointment backlog.

used by Consultants, Doctors, Nurses and Pharmacy staff. Also gave support to Maxims Order Comms (OCS). Was them moved onto Imprivata SSO (Single Sign On) Roll Out, starting with the A&E/ICU/MAU Depts. This also includes some RA work and Tech Support work as well.

Supported the ‘Go Live’ of Cerner PI –Ordered Comms. This was an End User facing role, but mainly the Clinical staff of the Hospital – Professors, Mr, Dr, and Nursing staff, as the Go Live’ was centred around the use of ordering tests and endorsing the results. Areas covered, were Outpatients/Inpatients/Private Patients and all areas when clinical requested were placed.

Contract IT Trainer/Application Support Employed University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay (UHMB)

In late May i was release from CPFT, to be part of the Go Live team at Morecambe Bay. I have been based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, since the Go Live in May till present time. Duties have involved, floor walking (Team Leader), Date Prep, One-to-one training on a live system. Areas covered have been Inpatients, Outpatients and A&E. As the software has become more stable my duties are more data gather/analysis and problem solving/testing software updates for regression issues, and was now part of the Application Support team

Freelance Contract IT Trainer Employed Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Northwood Middlesex.
This was an IPM Go Live, where my main role was to support main outpatients in their use of the new software and give help and advice where needed. I had been invited back as I was the lead trainer for the hospitals Train the Trainer course. I then returned back to UHMB to carry on with my normal duties.

Freelance Contract IT Trainer Employed by Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Foundation Trust
(CPFT) Lorenzo Mental Health Project - Part the training team that sat and passed the TtT Lorenzo Mental Health. Before being seconded to UHMB, the team was creating the training manuals and working out timings for the training to the end users.

 July 2007 – March 2010        

NHS Master Trainer Redtray Ltd, Knowsley

My role for Redtray this time is to visit NHS sites to give a high level demonstration on the products that each trust is thinking of buying or have already bought. I met a wide range of people from each NHS Trust – from the CEO, the Senior Consultants to the Ward Clerks.

The areas I covered were the North West, The Midlands, The North East and the East.

The products that I delivered were IPM system, ICM, ORMIS, PACS and A&E. l gave high level demonstrations on the new Lorenzo R1 & R1.9 software release, and should have been doing the demonstrations on Lorenzo R2 from mid March’09 onwards. I was part of a promotional team that worked at the 2008 Labour Party Conference showing the current and future releases available to the NHS. These demos were done to Cabinet Ministers, Lords, MP’s, Mrs Brown and members of the public. 

July 2009 – My role was changed. I delivered Train the Trainer course on IPM to NHS trainers. This is a 5-week course to NHS users and also delivered one-week internal training to staff.

 Also delivered 5-day overview courses of Lorenzo Regional Care, LR1.9 & LR1 to internal staff members. I would also test patient’s journeys in the training environment, making sure that these were fit for purpose

 

Jan 2006 – July 2007    

IT Trainer Enterprise PLC, Leyland, Preston

Enterprise plc provides outsourced emergency and maintenance services to clients within the public and private sectors. They support many utilities companies the majority of which are within the Gas, Electric, Water and Telecoms industries. Working as part of a team of IT Trainers, my initial role was to support a national role-out for the MOD Housing (MHS), throughout England. Duties on the MOD covered:

  • Setting up and installing a mobile classroom in various MOD location throughout England
  • Training MOD admin staff in the use of the Workmanager software
  • Training call centre staff on how to use Workmanager software
  • Providing support either by phone or floorwalking
  • The job required security clearance.

I then transferred onto handheld solutions working on the BT contract. My duties of the BT contract covered

  • 1 to 1 Training in a live working environment
  • Initiating a Phase 2 Rollout
  • Initiating a Phase 3 Rollout
  • Training new BT Site Agents in the maintenance of PDA’s and on the use of Workmanager software
  • Providing support either by phone or floorwalking
  • Working with software developers
  • Documentation, design, and updating of training manuals

I was transferred back onto the MOD training team (MHS), where my duties were as before but have now delivered a phase 2 rollout, and have produced training manual from scratch, and have then delivered, as part of a team, classroom training to MHS delegates.

From April ’07 I was seconded to Carillion-Enterprise (C-E) as part of the Regional Prime Contract. Whereas before I trained staff to deal with MOD married quarters, I now trained C-E and MOD staff on the maintenance of MOD military establishments. 

 

July 2005 – Dec 2005

NHS Master Trainer Redtray Ltd, Knowsley

Redtray Ltd was the training provider for CSC, who is one of the major partners in the NHS computer systems update (NpfIT) in England.

My initial role was a 6-7 weeks’ deployment on a NHS site, training the NHS Trainers in the new software (IPM). Also included in this would be feedback from the deployment.

Other roles included documentation and design of training manuals and updating these as new versions of the software were released.

 

Nov 2004 – June 2005   MBW Training Services Blackpool

MBW were a major provider of Learndirect course in the Blackpool area. They also had 2 satellite centers, the first one being within HMP Kirkham and the other located at the Gujarat Hindu Society (GHS) Preston.

I was the test center administrator for ECDL. My duties included:

  • Training students in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet/E-mail, was using Office 2000, for ECDL, but moved onto Office XP.
  • Assess new learners and their learning aims and needs
  • Enrolling new students onto the correct course to meet their needs and improve their skills
  • Monitor progress of students on their course
  • Giving tutor support by phone, e-mail and one to one lessons
  • Giving support/tuition to classroom groups (Max 14 Students in group)
  • Knowledge of all the MS Office software
  • Dream Weaver 4 and FrontPage
