Recruited as part of the introduction of the HiPath 8000 (latterly OpenScape Unified Communications Server) project to introduce VoIP and Unified Communications within the UK.

•   Led the Strategy for the use of VMware platforms to support the OpenScape Unified Communications platforms as a host within a Private IL2 or IL3 Cloud. That became the Public Services Network G-Cloud offering

•   Lead Solutions Architect at the BBC, Siemens largest HiPath 8000 customer for VoIP and Unified Communications in the UK.

•   Representing Sales on the Wi-Fi and FMC Realisation Team to speed products into profitable sales.

•   Architect for the European Node of a Global rollout of OpenScape Unified Communications Server for the Pall Corporation (31 offices in 17 countries).

•   Technical Design Authority for designs for UBS, to adopt OpenScape Unified Communications Server.

•   Lead Technical Designer for an ongoing project through BT for the Foreign Office covering two hundred countries.

•   Technical Design Authority for five-major Public Service Network bids in two years, three of which were won worth £20+ million.

The role is to respond to an RFP with security design and pricing for a new platform to process payments. One key architectural requirement being the adoption of Zero Trust Architecture to give Secure Access Service and be the subject matter expert providing security guidance to the design teams.


Contribution: Currently responding to the RFP and developing the security architecture and costing as the subject matter expert, a key part of the security design team for a piece of Critical National Infrastructure.

The role is to review critical infrastructure systems and software projects across all industry sectors and be the subject matter expert providing security guidance to the design teams.
