We are looking for a Data Centre Project Manager to support a specialist Trust in the North West during the migration of their datacentre.

There will be a small amount of (new) infrastructure remaining in the Trust which will need to be included in the migration plans. The colocation data centre will be at one site but in multiple data halls. At this stage the Trust is planning replication to occur between two rooms in the Trust, between the data halls in the colocation but not between the Trust and the colocation.

The business case for this project has recently been approved and initial infrastructure designs have been created, however this may change as the project progresses.  The initial data centre space and network provision has been ordered.    

Preference would be for someone based in the north west who is happy to work on site, however also prepared to travel down south to the second datacentre at key points in the project.

Remote working can be carried out some of the time although you will be required on site when planning migrations with services and key stakeholders as there will be a requirement to host face to face sessions.  There will also be a need to be at the datacentre during hardware installations etc.

Key skills and experience required;

• IT infrastructure project background, ideally previous experience in an infrastructure support\management role
• Must have carried out a major infrastructure migration, moving services from one data centre to another (relocation / colocation projects)
• Understanding of data centre best practice (DCIM)
• Experience of major infrastructure replacement projects (SAN\Compute\Network)
• Experience managing\coordinating multiple vendors
• Experience working with telco providers

NHS is preferable however not essential for this role.
