Are you looking to support those with complex mental health and social needs to live a meaningful life in a role where no two days are the same? If so, Moxie People are recruiting for a Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach to cover maternity leave on behalf of a housing association who place the individual needs of tenants at the heart of all they do to help them achieve positive outcomes for them and their communities. Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach role details: * Location: The contract is Gwent wide, however travel is generally between Caerphilly and Newport and a large element of support can be offered remotely (depending on the needs of tenants) * Duration: Until December 2021 (maternity cover) * Hours: 37.5 per week (6-week rolling rota with a mix of earlies, lates, days and weekends) * Hourly Rate: £11.53 - £13.50 per hour (including holiday pay) * Start Date: Early August 2021 (flexible) Shift details: Weekdays: 7am-3pm, 2pm-10pm, 9am-4pm, 10pm-7:30am waking night Weekends: 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am waking night (4 out of 6 weekends off) Due to the shift work involved and to ensure the effective running of the service, you will have 18 days off within each 6-week rota. As a Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach, you will work to build relationships, improve wellbeing and help patients transition from long-term psychiatric care back to independent living within the local community. You'll support 3-5 tenants at a time with building relationships, integrating back into the community, securing a tenancy and getting on their feet in their new home so they can ultimately go on to live a fulfilling life independently. What's in it for you? * The opportunity to empower some of the most vulnerable people in society and give them the chance to thrive in life * A role where no two days are the same - if you like variety and person-centred support, this is the contract for you! * Clinical supervision during team meetings and as required to protect your own wellbeing while supporting during sometimes challenging and trying situations What will your day-to-day look like? * Offering advice, information and emotional support to those with complex mental health and social needs, including personality disorders, suicidal ideation and self-harm * Ensuring tenants have choice and control in the delivery of their support, involving them with Care and Treatment Plan reviews to ensure they are equal partners in developing the support they're receiving * Attending medical appointments, community activities, relationship building, assisting with emotional regulation - no two days are the same! * Managing mental health and wellbeing and helping tenants to develop sustainable techniques to assist with this * Supporting tenants to develop independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, tenancy management, paying bills, setting up appliances, etc * Making sure accurate records are maintained through internal systems What do you need to be considered? * Experience supporting vulnerable clients or coaching people towards achieving positive outcomes * The ability to build and maintain trusting relationships and rapport * An understanding of the barriers and stigma that those with mental health needs may face and a passion for helping individuals to overcome this * A non-judgmental, empathetic and motivational approach * Confidence in handling difficult situations including self-harm and suicidal tendencies * A full UK driving licence and business insurance (you will be required to transport tenants as part of this role) If you feel you meet the requirements detailed above, please take the time to update your CV to include any skills, experience and knowledge required for the role and send this across to me.
