Deputy Manager £12.23 per hour We are looking for a Deputy Manager to run a 42 bed, purpose built home situated in Rochford, Essex. This spacious home provides expert care for older people, including those living with dementia. They strive to create a homely environment and provide all the comforts of good food, good company and friendly staff, in a calm and restful atmosphere. Key features of the Deputy Manager role 40 hours per week Ensure the service meets H&S regulations and guidance. Driver preferred but not essential To ensure all aspects of the Management of the Service meet with the National Care Standards Act 2000 and the requirements of CQC, together with all other relative legislative requirements. Utilising support services as required, such as Advocacy. To uphold the values and ethos of the Company. Celebrate and share success with service users, colleagues and partners Support people to express their individuality and uniqueness in all areas of life. Ensure staff team completes H&S training as required. To undertake ongoing continued professional development. Maintaining close contact with families/carers as appropriate, with the consent of the individuals being supported in the service. To ensure good quality working relationships are built and maintained between staff and the service users they are supporting. Implementing/monitoring and contributing to joint initiatives as required e.g. Person-Centred Plans, Health Action Plans. To provide a needs led service to adults by adopting a person centred approach that fosters self awareness, personal growth and gives each person the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices.Requirements of the role Ability to develop and promote positive working relationships with individual's being supported, their carers and professional colleagues. 2 years recent and significant experience of working with elderly/ dementia residents Ability to communicate to range of people using different communication methods. Ability to deal effectively in crises/emergencies. Ability to work under pressure while recognising it in self and others. Able to work flexibly, e.g. - working a weekend rota with other managers.
