Braintree District Council have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Housing and Community to lead this team. Location: Braintree, Essex Salary: £64,674 - £71,106 per annum Job Type: Full Time - Permanent Head of Housing and Community- The Role: Our Housing and Community team is experienced, responsive and has built excellent partnerships that deliver high quality services to support our communities. We are looking for a Head of Housing & Community who can build on this strong foundation and develop the service to meet the future needs of our district. Head of Housing and Community - Key Responsibilities: - To lead and develop the Council's Housing and Community Services in terms of strategy and management responsibility, ensuring the provision of high quality, customer focused services that meet the needs of the district - To lead the development of strategy and policy in relation to service areas and ensure that the organisation responds to relevant changes in legislation - To be responsible for ensuring the Council delivers against statutory responsibilities and ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements, national policy, professional and organisational frameworks - To develop and maintain key partnerships required to support the delivery of Community objectives, including the Community Safety Partnership, Citizens Advice and Community & Voluntary Sector organisations - To lead the provision of the Community Transport Service, with the support of the Community Services Manager Head of Housing and Community - You: - You will need to be a skilled and resourceful senior manager with extensive experience of managing all aspects of housing and community in a local authority setting - You will have proven success at making connections across partners and sectors to deliver successful outcomes - You will have experience of delivering service change and implementation, project management and commissioning contracts - Your communication skills need to be excellent, as well as your abilities to negotiate and influence, bringing together individuals and teams - You need to be able to problem solve, devise solutions, and make informed and well-judged decisions In return you will join an organisation that understands and values your contribution, we are proud of the services we provide and are always looking to do more.
