Toxicology Manager – International FMCG Location: Heathrow, West London Salary: £40-50,000 + great benefits Our client is an international business that is number one in their sector. As part of their continued growth plans, they are opening a brand new facility in West London, this site will be the latest, most-modern operational centre in the UK. As part of these extraordinarily exciting growth plans they are looking to recruit a proven Toxicology Manager to play an integral part in helping them to achieve their operational goals. As the Toxicology Manager you will contribute to the success of the department by ensuring that analyses of casework items are carried out in a timely manner to quality standards and to provide non-routine assay service as necessary, in addition you will provide management advice & guidance to a small team. Key Accountabilities * To provide supervision, training and mentoring to other team members * To ensure analytical data conforms to quality standards * To plan and assist in the training and mentoring in the methodologies/instruments utilised in the laboratory * To design and carry out method development and method validation on at least one of the instruments utilised in the laboratory * To provide line management for laboratory team members, including yearly appraisals and driving career progression * To manage the weekly schedule, laboratory engineer maintenance, laboratory audits, and continuous improvement projects * To run R&D projects – lead projects, direct staff, write validation reports etc. The Person: * Chemistry Degree, or equivalent * Commercial laboratory experience, ideally in an ISO 17025, or equivalent lab * Proven experience in training & developing a team of scientific technicians & analysts * Experience in method development and troubleshooting * Significant LC-MS/MS experience * Extensive experience in the use of laboratory based analytical instruments * Strong written & verbal communication skills along with good planning & organisational skills * Familiar with working in a fast-paced customer centric organisation * Accountable for you own actions with the confidence to delegate when appropriate & necessary To apply for this career-defining opportunity please e-mail your CV, or please do call our office if you require further information
