Job Requirements/Description
Be the difference, be inspired, be you The contentment young people feel when you help them to work through their development traumas, neurodevelopment disorders and other complex needs and really start to participate in daily life… There really is nothing like it. To you, one single breakthrough is worth a thousand thank yous. It’s exactly that kind of selfless, altruistic attitude that makes us so excited to talk to you, here at Witherslack Group, as we grow our therapeutic team. Be the Therapist you always wanted to be As you well know, this is a profession that’s all about the long-term. You know what it’s like when young people are passed from pillar to post – you just don’t see the same kind of successes that you see when they’re given access to strategic, consistent and joined-up therapy. Which is exactly why we’ve built our whole approach around the latter and have a multidisciplinary team who’ll work alongside you, including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Mental Health Practitioners and Speech and Language Therapists. It’s not just the fact that you’ll have access to nearly 100 different professionals offering you peer support, development and shared best practice, plus a Clinical Director providing clinical governance. It’s also that we’re a nationwide network of sector-leading schools and children’s homes who share case files, enabling us to develop a holistic, unique approach to each child’s development. Be More Be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the integrated development of each and every young person that lives and learns with us Apply that magical combination of theoretical knowledge and depth of experience to deliver life-changing occupational therapies, that will remove any barriers for our young people Promote and enable Reflective Practice in your informal working relationships as well as when you chair and facilitate meetingsWorking with us The Occupational Therapists with us bring far more than just the essentials. Sure, registration with HCPC and lengthy sector experience are all vital (as is being a car driver, as there’s some travel involved). The difference with Witherslack Group teams, though, is that you can sense the commitment – that far-sighted view of potential outcomes that drives us toward achieving them. We need that. It’s what makes us who we are as an organisation. A member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, you will be comfortable delivering training to parents and other professionals and will have supervision qualifications. Experience of working with those with autism, mental health issues and social and emotional difficulties will stand you in good stead for a role filled with possibility – not just for our young people, but for you too, as you develop your career. Be Rewarded The difference you’ll make will, of course, be palpable. This is an organisation where changing lives for the better is the order of the day. But, beyond the feelgood factor, we believe you deserve to be compensated for your amazing efforts. Which is why we offer: A very competitive salary 7 weeks’ holidays (35 days), including Bank Holidays A contributory pension scheme, up to 5% A comprehensive induction and ongoing training Extensive Group staff benefits, such as a Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance and Cycle-to-Work scheme Opportunities for CPD for you and your teamBe the difference, be inspired, be you The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
