An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced biosciences technician to be part of our growing Technical Services team, delivering high quality technical support for biomedical sciences and related courses. We invite applications from experienced, motivated biosciences technicians with previous experience in cell and molecular biology techniques, including mammalian cell culture and RT-PCR/PCR assays. Knowledge of microbiology and/or other life sciences areas would be useful. Ideally you have a degree in a life sciences or biological subject with appropriate demonstrable expertise and several years’ experience in a related technical support role in higher education or industry, using relevant techniques. The role requires a strong understanding of good laboratory practice and applied health & safety knowledge. You should be able to work well within a team and have strong communication skills with a positive flexible attitude. This is not a teaching role although you will be working closely with academic colleagues to prepare and plan practical laboratory sessions. Educated to degree level, you should be committed to ongoing professional development.
