Deputy Home Manager - Learning Disabilities Are you an experienced Deputy Home Manager with experience of supporting service users with Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour? If so, a new and exciting position has just arisen with one of our clients based in the Stevenage, Hertfordshire area for a Deputy Manager to join their well-established team. As a Deputy Manager you will be directly reporting to the Registered Manager and will support both them and the care and support teams on a daily basis. My client has a 'Good' rating from the CQC in all areas and has recently undertook a new inspection where this outcome was repeated and are looking for a deputy manager that will uphold their high standards of care and maintain their companies core values by providing a person-centred care service to all service users within the service. Overview Salary - £21,340 Hours of Work - Full Time Permanent Position. Shifts - 40hrs per week. Area - Stevenage, Hertfordshire Responsibilities of Deputy Home Manager - Learning Disabilities Promote an enabling environment for the service users, ensuring that high standards of support are provided, whilst ensuring strict compliance with both internal policies, and external regulatory standards / procedures are adhered to at all times. There will be times when the Registered Manager will not be within the service, during these times you will be required to step up and take over the management as a whole during the absence of the service manager. Be able to pull on your own knowledge and experiences to support, advise and motivate the care team to ensure that all service users are supported to be as independent as possible and achieve their goals. As with the industry, situations can arise spontaneously, you must be able to think on your feet and react as situations arise. Provide a person centred and tailored support service to the service users allowing them to reach their full potential. Oversee the staff team within the service, providing training and inductions as well as supporting the development of the team members. Work collaboratively with the Service Manager, and other members of the care management teams to ensure continuous improvement and development in the delivery of the care service. Skills Required of Deputy Home Manager - Learning Disabilities You will need to have previous experience of working with service users that have learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. You will be required to have good IT skills and be computer literate, with good literacy, numeracy, interpersonal and customer service skills. Previous experience of a supervisory / management role within the healthcare industry (preferably within learning disabilities or challenging behaviours). You will need to a have a strong desire to succeed, and to provide the highest level of care at any time to the service users, ensuring that you always cater to their diverse individual needs. This role requires a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 qualification in health and social care. You will have a strong record of achievement within the health and social care sector and a vast knowledge of the industry.
