Were you at the Recruitment Agency Expo?
“If not then don’t worry as GoToJobBoard was there and we want to tell you all about it…”
Written by Mark Cherry (Marketing Manager at GoToJobBoard.com)
Held at the Birmingham NEC Arena on 01st and 2nd October 2014, the Recruitment Agency Expo received fantastic support from Recruitment Agencies, job boards, professional bodies and suppliers alike. There were some incredibly imaginative stands: Broadbean had a video game racing chair hooked up to a car game for passers-by and a board with lap times stuck to it which was vaguely reminiscent of Top Gear. Candidate Source Limited took a slightly more chilled approach with an ice cream stall (I only had one, I promise) and Qdos had their own private bar serving drinks on tap to thirsty visitors. There was even a stand that offered visitors a complimentary shoe shine…
Professionals Recruitment Industry bodies were in attendance and had a very strong presence as they were represented by REC, APSCo and ARC to name but a few. Seminars were usually fully booked and visitors often struggled to get a seat with Speakers including: Johnny Campbell (Ringmaster at Social Talent), Kevin Green (CEO at REC), Adrian Marlowe (Chairman at ACR) and Chris Bryce (CEO at IPSE). With two halls hosting separate seminars it was quite often difficult to choose which one to attend. There were some thoroughly interesting industry insights, hints, tips and recommendations to be gathered from attending these talks and GoToJobBoard tried to get round to as many as we could. We learnt A LOT!
The Training Zone was a really unique idea that I have not seen at a conference before and was constantly abuzz with visitors eager to learn new skills. In these sessions’ real life examples were taken from attendees and industry experts then showed how to overcome certain problems that commonly occur when recruiting for certain jobs.
All in all GoToJobBoard had a great time at the event; we met some fantastic new contacts and would recommend it to anyone looking for insights into the Recruitment industry. If you are thinking of attending next year make sure that you keep an eye out for us as we may have a stall of our own there…
